Requires Expansion Pack: Yes Artist: MetallicA Comments: I used my 1990 Jackson Rhoads Pro with an EMG 81X in the bridge. It's poplar with a maple neck thru. If this was mahogany with a mahogany set neck and either a Duncan Invader or Dirty Fingers (whatever was used for the album) I'm sure I could get closer. I also used my Furman PQ6 parametric EQ like they did for the album. It thickens and brightens the pickups a little while boosting the front end of the amp a little more. The TS808 does a good job already but the PQ6 gives it that thick chainsaw-ish sound. Same thing Dimebag used it for. The EQing on the PQ6 was very minimal so it's not very important. Chain is guitar, PQ6, 11R-ts808, JCM800, G12-65 4x12, parametric EQ, reverb. I'm currently working on Kill Em All with a duncan invader. Also Puppets and Justice. |
