Here's mine ... I'm hoping to some day figure out which midi pedal will work best for me and add that to the rig.

Here's my rig . . . I typically run wireless into the Shure SLX4 system, then into Eleven Rack. The BBE Sonic Maximizer is in the effect loop and REALLY increases clarity - I highly recommend it. I then run an XLR straight out the back to the soundboard for live stuff, and use the FCB1010 for stage control. That's my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe sitting next to it. The studio monitors are where the magic happens in tone shaping. Yep, that's two 1x12 cabinets (Mesa 12's) the rack is sitting on, completely unused since I switched over to Eleven Rack a year ago. They make a great shelf. ____________________________ http://www.theunlikelies.com1976 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, P90's replaced with Burstbuckers Eric Johnson Signature Model Fender Stratocaster Martin DC-16RGTE Alvarez Yairi WY-1

figure might as well share here =) Rig when I was still uncomfortable with not having a cabinet on stage.. now when I really love an ampless stage =) (esp. when the soundman was so happy that there is no amp blasting at the orchestra on the same stage and it took me less than 1 min to set up the rig with the FOH)

From my Musicman equipped with Variax Variax output > Line6XPS box > Zoom 504II (I DO love this unit)> P.A. I use variax only for acoustic/dobro/banjo/12strings/sitar sims... Di Marzio jack output > Morley ABY > one output goes to the planet waves tuner / the other ouput goes to the pedalracks true bypass looper in which loop I put the Crybaby switchless > 11R > straight to the P.A I use a Ernie Ball VPJR6180 as expression pedal and a French homemade Midifootcontroller X-digit Bybuzz Technologies. I can use the 2 outputs (variax and Di Marzio) at the same time, I think only my variax transplant guitar allows this... Enjoy Cheers Djemass

VSA,
Thanks, man. The blue JP BFR is actually for sale right now. The guitar is awesome, but I think that I am the only player on the planet that doesn't like the position of the pickup toggle switch. I hold a pick more like George Lynch than John Petrucci. My fingers keep hitting the switch and changing the pickup in the middle of playing. I gave it 2 weeks, but I can't change my picking habits after 25 years of playing.
Its a 2009 JP6 Ball Family Reserve. I bought it from a collector in Calfornia who never played it. I played it at home for 2 weeks and just couldn't adapt to it. Selling it on eBay now for $2149.

This may be a dumb question?? But as a guitar tech and luthier. Could you move your knobs and switches around so that the switch would be at the bottom and your volume knob or your piezo volum mix knob would be a the top where the switch currently is? or maybe turn the switch so that it will flip from the top to bottom of the guitar rather from side to side?

i'll throw some pictures up this weekend of what all i got. a lot of customized and modded gibson's, prs's, and a tele i'm currently building 2 guitars for 2 different friends, both with the same mod. one is a b.c. rich explorer style body that i routed pin stripes with different widths, the other is a peavey strat style guitar that i filled the front cavities and routed a plaid style design into (it's actual silver chairs new ablum cover with the differnt lines) but both will have a korg kaoss pad installed into them. i got the peavey about 90% done but still have a lot of routing to do on the b.c rich, then i'll just need to prime and paint. the b.c. rich will have a schecter sinister guitar pinstripe paint job going on, and the peavey will be all different colored stripes. i'll throw those pics up in a month or so when i finish them. also check out my boy Stephen, he's my inspiration for building, you guys may get a kick out of his stuff, i sure do! http://www.mcswainguitars.com/

It's not a dumb questions. The answer is that Music Man BallFamily Reserve guitars are limited edition custom shop productions often collected more than played. Modifying the guitar would devalue it. I also think that I may be the odd man out here. I have never read a review of this guitar where someone had an issue with the toggle location. I seem to be the only player on the planet that isn't comfortable with it. I prefer my Music Man 25th Anniversary model because the controls are out of my way.

right on. just sayin though, if you move a switch or knob, generally they all have the same hole size so their shouldn't be any drilling needed, and you should have enough slack to move stuff around, that way if you want to sell it you can move it back.
but like you were saying if its a collectors item you may just wanna leave it be. i'm that way with my 61 re-issue vos sg

Yeah I hear ya on the position, I actually am not a fan of the position either, but the neck is so great and perfect for my hand I just learned to love it I guess LOL If I had the dough I'd be all over it - I dont think I'll be buying any more petrucci's though for a while... so dang expensive!

I think it's Gibson's best model since the ES-355, and they've replaced all my other guitars for stand-up gigs. I especially like that they have a 25.5" scale, since my usual gigging guitar is an L-5. I met Johnny A at the 2004 NAMM show in the Gibson booth--he's both a great player and a very nice guy. I had a chance to rummage through some of our gear this last weekend while we were unloading it from our trailer. I didn't get any of the 11R or amp pics since the roadcases were already put up, but i did manage to get a few of our guitars and basses (hoping in a few months we can get a guitar vault to really display them) We got a gibson les paul studio that our lead guitarist burns some paint off to give it a unique cowhide looking finish (this is his primary and signature guitar) Another gibson les paul he found abandoned and worn real bad in some old building as a kid, so he did a weird re-finish and stain effect to it (this is his 2nd backup guitar and rarely uses it) a gibson sg 61 re-issue vos which is his primary backup guitar an american fender tele with hot rails this is his c# tuned guitar he uses for 2 songs our rhythm guitarist uses a prs hollowbody with piezo pickups for his primary guitar a gibson explorer for his primary backup guitar and an epiphone les paul for 2 songs we play in c# Also there is a PRS mike mushok baritone in there too, we don't use it live but are going to use it on our next album for some heavy riffs and some drop's we also have 2 gibson firebirds (one is a blackbird) for bass, as well as a few warwicks, fenders and a spector (i could only find the firebirds in the pile of equiptment) i also threw in some pictures of the custom device i build that sends midi, power over midi, fx loop, power for fx loop pedals, all over a single cat5 cable (the rack end unit, and the pedal board end)

Kick. Ass. That looks fantastic. On a side note, I saw someone here was using a BBE with their 11R. I've been thinking about putting one of those in the loop of my 11R.

I hope to have some pics of my gear posted sometime soon for you guys to check out.... And I LOVE that 11R enclosure there JackoMBA! That's badass! Later, Mike .

Here's my rig, I found it easier to just shoot a video than take pictures, As my room isn't photogenic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUieCGcP7AUThe video seems to be taking a while to process, So it may or may not work if you click on it. I did however get it to play on my YouTube channel, So try there if the video page doesn't work.

I haven't uploaded my rig yet so here goes ... Here are my current guitars: My amp (which hasn't been used so much since I got the Eleven Rack): And my current 11 Rack setup: My M Audio BX8A's are on top of my desk ... Also I've moved rooms (the amp is in my guitar room and the Eleven Rack in my bedroom) so my Eleven Rack is next to my bed When it's winter I'm forced to move again (due to bad heating in my bedroom) and I plan on getting a professional desk for my Eleven Rack when I do ... Now it's a bit of improvising

Hey dude, I just noticed you have a G Major 2. I have a G Major and JMP-1. Just wondering how you run the G Major with the Eleven Rack? For recording I'll run the 11R through the USB for now but I'm a bit confused as to how I would use all this live. Currently I run the Guitar > JMP-1 > G Major > BBE Sonic Maximizer > Mesa 50/50 > Marshall 4x12 wired in stereo. I'm wondering how to fit the Elevan Rack into this.......? Cheers man Michael

Cheers man Michael In the beginning I tried the Eleven Rack together with the G Major and just ran it in the Effect Loop ... I remember that I spent some time setting the levels correctly! Now I don't use it anymore ... since the expansion pack I have everything I need (and more) in the Eleven Rack How you should run it: Well I'm far from an expert! but I would go: Guitar > Eleven Rack (G major in effects loop) > Mesa 50/50 > 4x12. The JMP is also a preamp so I think it wouldn't go so well with the Eleven Rack and the Sonic Maximizer I would try to get somewhere in the effects loop as well ... But I'm not good at these kinds of things so ... sry I can't help so much . Maybe a more "Pro-user" can help you with this?

Here's mine: This stuff had been segregated into two smaller Gator racks, but it became too much of a PITA, having to not only transport the two racks and stands, but also to interconnect the two racks and then put everything on stands. I wanted it all in one full-on, roadworthy rack that was a nice height to use as a "stand" for my K-12, and had room to add my M13 in the bottom. I found that unless I special ordered, 10-space road-case racks are difficult to find here, so I ended up buying this one used. It's less than perfect, built a bit weird with latches on the top and bottom rather than on the sides, and it needs a little love - I need to reinforce the bottom with either a blank or a piece of angle, because (as you can see) it flexes under the weight of the contents. I play through a K-12 for onstage monitoring and in-ears for personal monitoring. I control it with a GCP with 2 expression pedals (one with a toe-switch), or with an FCB1010 when the gig's too small to set up the PT-Pro pedalboard. The whole thing's much easier to setup now. I plug in my vocal mic and ambient stage mic into the little mixer in the rack (for the in-ears), and I have a drop-snake already attached to the appropriate mic\guitar splits in the back so that I only have to run 1 cable to the main snake (or if mixing from the stage on a small gig, direct to the board). There's also 1 power cable, 1 short XLR to the K-12, and and a PedalSnake for MIDI, expression, and power for the pedalboard.

Nice setup. You know you could have put a single Axe-FX II in place of the two Eleven Racks.. I'm just saying..

Nice setup. You know you could have put a single Axe-FX II in place of the two Eleven Racks.. I'm just saying.. You're probably right, but the reason I have two isn`t for anything special. It`s a long story, but I`ll keep it short by saying that one 11R is for backup. The rack looks better now - I put in two flanged 1-space blanks at the bottom, that not only reinforce it, but also clean it up cosmetically. I`m thinking I might also mount my GCP in the back lid, and my expression pedals in the other...

A part of my rig for gigs! PEAK FCB4N2: a little beast. ELEVEN RACK with some Joyo stomp boxes: simply awesome tone! I connect my Eleven Rack in stereo direct to the PA main desk. It sounds clear and powerful. I liked!

You guys have some seriously cool rigs. Until very recently I was living hand to mouth for years, so I haven't even got a decent guitar. Now that I can afford to I'll be getting one though. Just two more weeks... And this is the baby I'm going to buy: Mahogany body with a flamed maple top, Seymour Duncan '59 (neck), Seymour Duncan JB (bridge), mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, 22 extra jumbo frets, Grover tuners and tune-o-matic bridge. Not to forget sustain that lasts 'til next Tuesday. And the month after that I'll be getting some studio furniture. I don't even have a proper desk, so I thought I might as well get one that's made with recording and home studio needs in mind:
