VSA,
We should let EV know how many units you helped sell, Dude, they should hook you up for free.

Here's my home setup: (I only use the 2nd Fishstick at jams)

I have had my 11R for a little over 48 hours and One of Two monitors made it, today. . .Holy Crap, this thing rocks, my Mesa boogie is, now, for sell. I can see an EV in my future, too.

Welcome to the forum man! This may be a hair off topic, but is it true that milk is like 10.00 per gallon in Alaska?!

Damn you! Damn you, VSA! ...and your gasser minions Goonbash and the like! I was perfectly happy with my Bose set up you know "dont really need so much chug" and all that Blah blah stuff I posted...Then GoonBash had to go and use his new EV SXA250 powered monitors with his line array (fishman) and it truly does look like a tasty set up with a line array or stick pa setup... add a bit of low end to a bigger jam space ...LOL! here I go again must book more shows see what I ca sell to get one of those ...you guys rawk thanks for doin the leg (and ear) work on this.

question GoonBash? do vocals sound pretty good out of the EV as well...in a small setting could you use it for both 11 and vocals?

All the props go to VSA, all I did was pay attention to the sound in his EV video and thought to myself, that sounds great and the 11rack can run stereo outs.

There is a part of my setup that you can't see in the photos which is a Yamaha mini-PA board. Vocals do sound decent straight into the EV mic input and I have run the 11rack and a mic into a single EV for practice situations, but by using a small PA board with the 2 EVs as the main outs and the Fishstick as the monitor, I get full control over my vocal input with the controls on the PA channel which gives me a lot more control than I would have plugging the mic straight into an EV. This way I can blend the vocals and 11rack into the EVs so the vocals can keep up with the bigger guitar sounds and I can also plug dome friends into the board so we can all use the sound system. It is my humble opinion that vocals sound great coming out of the EVs but I prefer the sound and routing options of using a small PA. Thanks for the compliments but as mentioned above, I am but a minion. wink

Yes in a small setting it works for both, but you still may prefer having full vocal controls somehow (external mic preamp or something) rather than just the level knob on the back of the EV to tweak your vocal sound.

Did I mention I hate your guts for having two of them? LOL wink I am so jealous I can't stand it! I am trying so hard to try and go to Sam Ash and check out the X Live series ones to see what the deal is with those too and praying they aren't as good smile LOL!

What mixer are you using out of curiosity?

Don't hate me, you can borrow one anytime you are in SoCal. wink I use the Yamaha mg82. It fits in the laptop section of my 11rack case and can do pretty much a small gig with just that le mixer.

And I use the little Fishman preamp next to the mixer with my Chet SST and then into the 11rsck for acoustic tones.
