Like a kid in a Candy store!
You know what makes me smile each time, X-Mann? Seeing you rocking out with all these famous guys and gals - look down and their's your laminate with 'TIMOTHY' on.
Kick-@ss - in the best possible way - glad you are having/had a cool time with all the new gear - one year, we should organise an 11R meet-up at such an event, even if we stage a mass protest @ the Avid stand :P
It's threads like this that make me love this place.
+1000 to what Riffmagus said! THANK YOU X-Mann for all of the great posts, pics, and insights. It almost felt like being there with all the great pics you shared. That is a serious amount of killer musicians you met!! It sounds like a big party with lots of gear - what's not to like
A big thank you also for taking the time to speak with Avid staff. I of course hoped for a different outcome, but you confirmed what I have suspected about Avid and their moving on from the 11R. I honestly think the company will regret the decision in the long run. It seems they cut some talented people and are losing out on growing the 11R.
Like others have said in this thread, Avid's decision doesn't change how I feel about my 11R. I have gigged it for over a year and it has not let me down yet - killer tones and effects that sound great to me. For the price I paid for mine new, it's still an incredible value for the money compared to any other preamp out there. Maybe one day I'll get another preamp, but with lots of gigs already lined up for this year, I can't see messing with what has worked so well so far: PRS - 11R - Mains - EV Powered Monitor = WIN \m/ Rock on!!
