Thanks for the tips, help, and compliments! Recording is definitely an art.

@TLTD You mention starting a new session @24/96...I'm not sure I understand that part... Using the 11r as my main interface with PT I'm only able to record @48, but in Ableton Live I'm able to record at 92. Any idea why that is?

I also just figured out how to fire midi from my FCB1010 to Ableton Live for backing tracks in a live setting. My thinking is, if I can record in a higher sample rate in PT with the 11r, that I'll create backing clips (guitar, synth etc.) and fire them off live with a live drummer/bassist.

Hmm...I could swear if you create a blank session, or somewhere at that first window you set the sample/bit depth. I've had to change it a few times lately, 24/44, 24/48, and 24/96. Should be able to do it all...once you are in a session, you can't change it though even if you haven't tracked yet you are stuck I think. Do it before you do anything else.

Re-did the song @24/96. I think it sounds better overall. I'm going to watch some vids on mixing/mastering and best practices for recording.

Thanks Corey. Recording has been a ton of fun, but it definitely has its frustrating moments...Mixing/mastering are a challenge.

I also need to have a real vocalist do all my vocals. wink

I'm starting to dial in the mixing, eqing and mastering. Here is the song after being mixed and mastered:

I'm feeling pretty good about how far I've come in terms of recording, mixing and mastering, but I still have a long ways to go.

Can't wait to record my next 4 songs that I have ready!
