Hey guys,
Due to several reasons, I decided to use Reaper instead of protools as my main DAW.
Now in protools, as soon as you open/create a session, direct monitoring is turned off automatically and you have to record enable a track in order to hear the input. exactly how it is supposed to be.
In reaper , however, I noticed, that sound is coming through regardless the state of my tracks.
This pretty annoying as I hear both the direct signal and the monitor output. If I am tracking, that is not a problem, but when I am re-amping, using another cab emulator, I hear both the direct sound ( where the 11R cabinet is bypassed) and the 3th party cab emulation. This makes it pretty hard to hear what the result is before printing the re-cabbed sound.
Is there a way to turn off direct monitoring on the 11R front?
I just cant find it...I feel stupid :-|

We've tried this to no avail. The only solution is Pro Tools or using a different interface. Kind of sucks. You can get a cheap IR loader for Pro Tools called Mellow Muse IR1A. If you have an i7 processor it's messed up though. I never really found anything that good in the IR dept for Eleven Rack, but creating a cab sound with the Sansamp plugin was kind of cool. You have to go nuts with the speaker breakup and highs to get anything good with Recabinet 3 or Sansamp, which makes it impossible to use if you have to hear that sound.

I almost think we should start bitching at Reaper and Cakewalk because it seems like every other interface has worked but they haven't spent the time on this one because they assume everyone uses Pro Tools.
